PROVENANCE

Howard moved from Surrey to the Forest of Dean to give his bees more space. It meant a new home and a new job, and he’s loving it! Howard chose a great spot, with the Forest of Dean and the original Blaisdon Plum orchard just over the hedge – you can see it in the photo, though sadly it was taken in winter rather than when the trees are in full bloom.

The Blaisdon Plum is a traditional English variety that’s great for jam! The first tree was apparently discovered in a hedge in Blaisdon village by a man called John Dowding in 1892. Around 100 years ago there used to be about 500 acres of Blaisdon plum orchards in the area, but most are now lost as we started importing cheaper varieties. Plant a Blaisdon Plum tree if you can!

  • Every one of our honeys is from a small-scale British beekeeper who has simply spun their honey from the hive and run it through a sieve for us. We jar and label it – and bring it to you to enjoy. Nothing more complicated than that!

On each jar we write the beekeeper’s name, where they kept their bees, when the honey was taken off, and how many jars of that honey the bees produced. Totally pure, raw and trustworthy.
