Honey from fields, Tamworth, Staffordshire

£12.95Price

This honey is pale and creamy, and people love it – it reminds them of how honey used to taste when they were little! I have to agree; it has a confectionery feel to it, taking me back to butterscotch and Caramac chocolate. It has a sort of savoury end note, so it’s not too sweet at all. Perfect on toast and totally more-ish!

The story of the beekeeper included

PROVENANCE

Just 300 jars of this honey were produced by bees kept in fields on Matthew’s family farm at Tamworth, on the border of Warwickshire and Staffordshire. It was taken in May when the oilseed rape was in bloom and the hawthorn out.

Matthew started beekeeping at university when he decided to renovate two hives on his family’s farm that he couldn’t remember ever being used, though he’s since found photos of his grandfather working the hives! Matthew taught himself at the start by watching lots of videos and then spent a season working on a bee farm in Australia, which gave him the confidence to go for it back home.

  • Every one of our honeys is from a small-scale British beekeeper who has simply spun their honey from the hive and run it through a sieve for us. We jar and label it – and bring it to you to enjoy. Nothing more complicated than that!

On each jar we write the beekeeper’s name, where they kept their bees, when the honey was taken off, and how many jars of that honey the bees produced. Totally pure, raw and trustworthy.
